Rosemont Australia Fashion Week kicked off without a hitch this morning with Hopelessly in Loveby OPI showing at the New South Wales Art Gallery on the
Lisa Ho models.
Later that morning gliding down the runway at Overseas Passenger terminal OPI featured again with Tickle My France-y by OPI, dressed in Ginger & Smart.
In the afternoon, OPI’s Do You Lilac It, glitter and sparkled at Rachel Gilbert before relaxing on the beach with Coney Island Cotton Candy, adorned in Bassike.
Rosemont Australian Fashion week has been a very neutral affair in terms of make-up. The look this year is clean cut and au la natural. Minimalist made-up, fresh faced models strut down the runway this year.
Swept back hair, french buns and free flowing manes offers a fresh approach, with most of the designers relying on nature as their source of inspiration.
The nail lacquers chosen to accessorize today’s outfits were very on-trend for Spring and Summer. Cool nude tones with a feminine hint of peach (Coney Island Cotton Candy) or pink (Hopelessly in love) combined with romantic shades of lilac (Do You Lilac It) and creamy mushroom (Tickle My France-y).
Other Spring and Summer trends yet to featured include; metallic (mother of pearl, silver, gold and shimmery shades), bold Spanish red and pastels.
Most of the parades today featured bare back dresses, long skirts and flowing dresses, batik style material in black & white, forest green, turquoise, ocean blue, lilacs, beige, creams and greys.
Some designers accessorized with silver whilst others over emphasised in gold.

Day two at Rosemount Australian Fashion Week started off with a bang with two outstanding designers taking on the breakfast shift.
OPI’s Samoan Sand featured at Camilla and Marc show in downtown Haymarket is a gorgeous bohemian style building.
Simplicity yet romantic was the theme of the day at Camilla & Marc featuring luxurious fabrics, such as suede and silks, mixed with gold accessories, cape style jackets with gold buckles. Daring sheer shirts combined with skirts in subtle sophisticated tribal prints made the range completely wearable. The uniqueness of the Camilla & Marc showing was the interesting draping of the dresses and skirts.
The models paraded in an assortment of soft pastels such as turquoise, aqua, dusty pink, coral, yellow/green, khaki, lilac, cream and greys. The make-up style was ethnic and exotic featuring dark heavy eyebrows with peach textured eye shadow and swept back pony tails. Polished off with a nude neutral shade of OPI’s Samoan Sand.
Zimmermann styling was the stand out. Bold and daring make-up, futuristic jewellery accessories, against black and white geometrical designs combined with pink floral prints.
The make-up team at Zimmerman chose a more daring style, a more Spanish influence to match the bold fashion range. Heavy dark eyebrows, pulled back flowing hair, dark dramatic burgundy lips. OPI stylist Karon McKendrick-Taylor aimed to match the burgundy lips through laying lacquers; Lincoln Park After Dark, followed by Manicurist in Seville.
The Zimmerman range focused on a mixture of striking geometric prints again feminine florals. High waisted 1950s, Katherine Hepburn pants, daring cut outs sheer shirts and cross over tops. The models parades in an assortment of colours and patterns, with a key focus on black and white geometry, clever draping, 3D prints combined with pretty pastels such as corals, peaches, turquoise, aqua, pink, lilac and mint.
The minimalist make-up theme continues to repeat itself throughout this year’s parades. We have seen more pronounced heavy eyebrows and dramatic lips from the team at Zimmerman.
Fashion Week designers continue to feature fabrics in cool shades such turquoise, dusk pink, green, lilac, blues, greys and beige.

POLISHED & LACQUERED AT RAFW
Day three at Rosemount Australian Fashion Week only began to heat up in the evening with the simplicity and an easy glamour of Jayson Brunsdon, followed by the amazingly fun, bright and colourful Anna & Boy showing, featuring OPI.
Even though the temperature had cooled down outside, Anna & Boy were getting all steamy on the catwalk with 1950 inspired models in lace-up pastel platform shoes and polka dot bikinis.
OPI’s bright colourful pastels shades Gargantuan Green Grape (a vibrant pastel green) and What’s with the Cattitude (a pastel pale blue) ignited the catwalk.
It was like 1950s glam swimwear meets high school musical stylish gym wear. The show featured a variety of pastel stripes and playful angular prints; Gidget inspired pants and caftan style overshirts; sexy backless maxi dresses and plunging halter neck swimmers.
The look all came together with the vibrant green and blue pastel lacquers from OPI, combined with vibrant shades of pastel eye shadow in hot pink, coral, aqua, blue and green and nude lips. The look was polished off with hair which was pilled up in a tassel of beehive curls or neatly tucked into old-fashioned floral swimming caps.
The colours chosen were mainly pastels including; aqua, green, lilac, peach, tangerine, yellow, emerald green and blue.
The up-beat tone of the parade was perfectly staged around an Elvis Presley soundtrack. It took all my will power not to jump up and do the pelvic twist!
Jayson’s stylish parade featuring pastels and classic cuts was a pleasant entrée for the vibrant and entertaining Anna & Boy show, where a splash of colour was certainly welcome.
Fashion Week designers continue to feature fabrics in cool pastel shades such turquoise, dusk pink, green, lilac, blues, tangerine, emerald green, greys and beige.

Day four at Rosemount Australian Fashion Week began with a powerful and innovative parade by designer Dion Lee, beautifully staged beneath the sails of the Opera House with OPI’s Pearls of Wisdom floating on the hands and toes of the models, like jewels.
Recognised as the benchmark for directional design talent at this years’ Fashion Week, Dion Lee’s show featured exquisite tailoring, daring symmetrical cut outs, mess inserts, beautiful designs with ink print blots and sunray pleating in lilacs, turquoise, aquas, greys, creams and beige.
Dion’s highly structured tailoring with soft knots, pleating and draping –was all about the symmetry.
Each outfit was accessorised with an eclectic mix of big crystal rings, drop gold earrings and chunky crystal necklaces, polished off with OPI’s Pearls of Wisdom on the hands of toes; one model commented that ‘she had diamonds on her nails!’
The make-up was minimalistic with only a slight hint of grey eye shadow, whilst the hair was straight slicked back with gel, au la natural.
Later that day, OPI appeared in another unique show by Fernando Frisoni, with Coney Island Cotton Candy walking down the catwalk at the Cargo Theatre.
The galactic inspired showing by Fernando Frisoni featured strong tones of futurism and military styles using strong bold colours in red, pink, rich blues, black and white.
The sharp structured tailoring including long jackets was contrasted with soft floaty feminine, modern vibrant prints, detailing such as ostrich feather, draped sheer dresses and see-through organza shorts. Polished off with these remarkable shiny ankle boots.
Make-up was again minimalistic with swept back free flowing hair.
Pastels colours, geometrical or angular prints, daring cut outs and bare back dresses seem to be the most popular trend at this years fashion week, accessorized with opaque nail lacquer with a hint of colour – OPI of course!

OPI went swimming in Coney Island CottonCandy with White Sands and then made a statement on the runway in Dulce De Leche for animal right with Annah Stretton, on the fifth and final day at Rosemount Australian Fashion Week.
Edgy contemporary swimwear designer, White Sands leaped into the spot light with a bright and breeze range of swim and resort wear featuring corals, peach, aqua, turquoise and dusty pink; in cute prints and one-pieces with plunging necklines and frill detail, batik blue prints with sailor drawstring detailing, maxis dresses and black silk poolside leisure dresses, daring cut out ripped backs on a one piece swimsuit, frill detail on the shoulders and floating fringe overlays. The range had a distinct back to the1980s feel, where going to the beach in your sexy string bikini and soaking up the sun was so cool.
The hair and make-up was minimalistic, free flowing sun swept, sexy beach hair. OPI’s Coney Island Cotton Candy was chosen because it is opaque with a hint of coral - the ideal fashion accessory to White Sand’s shipwrecked showing.
Annah Stretton’s new collection with a purpose was inspired by '50s rockabilly sex goddess Brigitte Bardot and her plight towards animal protection and animal rights.
To highlight her message, Annah Stretton’s collection used a demure palette of nudes and pastels to capture the innocence of animals and applied techniques of shirring and quilting to accentuate their imprisonment. Even the teased big sexy back combed hair was accessorised with little hair-wrapped imprisoned animals – using the power of fashion to make a statement about cruelty to animals!
One of the highlights of the show, besides from OPI’s creamy brown nude Dulce de Leche, were the fabulous rose adorned beige shoes and grey boots.
As our eyes feasted upon the collection of cheeky play suits in gun metal grey, dusty pink, turquoise, green, taupe and silver, we were thrilled to discover Madonna corsets, see through dresses and an amazing bodysuit in black French lace. The dresses were accessorized with billowing shoulders, plunging draping necklines. There were playful twinsets and hooped skirts and dresses in a red check gingham print. Long stripped pastel dresses and a striking red and purple flower print mini dress.
Pastels colours, geometrical or angular prints, daring cut outs, plunging necklines and bare backs were the most popular trend at this years fashion week, accessorized with pastel and opaque nail lacquer with a hint of colour – OPI of course!
